SOUK PLAZA (f, 2, Street Boss–Glittering Jewel, by Bernardini) debuted as the even-money favorite here but was slow from the gate and had to settle back off the pace as Nancy Lynn (Justify) put up a quick :21.85 opening quarter. Still mid pack but making steady progress through the field into the far turn, the homebred fanned out to the grandstand side with a quarter to run and wore down 10-1 longshot Banking Silver (Liam's Map) to get up in the final jumps and win by three-quarters of a length. Insighted runner Lady Liberty (Constitution) closed up for third while Jewel Box (Street Sense) came home an even sixth. The younger half-sister to GIII Stonestreet Lexington Stakes winner Encino (Nyquist), Souk Plaza is the second foal and winner out of a half-sister to champion 2-year-old colt and sire Street Sense (Street Cry {Ire}). Glittering Jewel produced a yearling full-sister to Souk Plaza last year and was bred to Midshipman for 2025. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $69,000.
